After the calm stillness of winter, it is wonderful to see everywhere growing in the spring time. In spring the warmth of the sun returns, trees blossom, and new life is created with great vitality. During this season it is advisable to go to bed early, arise early and go walking in order to absorb the fresh invigorating energy. Spring is the time of the Liver, tasked in Chinese medicine with the job of creating movement and arousing the mind. The Liver (in TCM) controls our tendon, therefore stretching exercise to loosen up tendons and muscles is recommended. Emotionally, it is good to keep calm and serene, use the spring dynamic energy to inspire you, to put new ideas into actions. When there is imbalance, the energy will be blocked and we may feel frustrated and anger will come.
